It was closed for the construction of a new tubular steel fence that will have a longer life than the chain link fence that was originally installed.
Why did the construction happening during some of the summer vacation instead of after school is back in session?
There was a desire to make the skate park safer and more secure as soon as possible.
Is there a reason why the skate park opens in the middle of the day instead of in the morning and closes in the mid-afternoon on weekends?
The reason for these opening and closing times is that they are coordinated with the schedule of Culver City's Parks and Playgrounds staff that can be there to oversee the park.
